A promise
from the founder of Sheldon Kagan International
Company president Sheldon Kagan, himself a music aficionado with a
personal collection of 20,000 records, is an ardent believer in the old
adage, “The show must go on.” The veteran impresario proudly states that
his company has NEVER failed a client.
“Weddings and corporate functions are extremely important events. As a
client, you want to know that a problem will be rectified if something
goes wrong,” he says.
“I
would fly in an act from New York or Toronto without question if all my
other entertainers were already booked – no matter what the cost of the
airfare or other expenses – to make sure that the show goes on,” adds
Kagan.
Kagan even flew in his own brother to fill in on one occasion.
Over
the years, Sheldon Kagan International has proven that it can oversee a
great number of events in a short time period. In fact, the company once
handled 25 functions in a single Labour Day weekend and 250 events in a
three-week period during the Christmas season.

Company
founder Sheldon Kagan
has a wealth of experience
as an
event planner

such as a George Benson, Donovan, Ravi Shankar, Billy Preston, Loggins &
Messina, as well as jazz legends Miles Davis, Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie,

Even
at a young age, the budding promoter demonstrated advanced acumen. When he
was 13-years-old, Kagan memorized the four phone numbers used by a radio
DJ for give-away contests. A precocious child, Sheldon often predicted
which number the DJ would use, enabling him to call instantly to win the
latest hit album. “I was probably the number one person as far as winning
and following everything that went on in music,” he says.
“Keen to be in the industry,” that was the beginning of his long career as
a party-giver.
As a
community minded person, Sheldon also donates
his companies’ services to several charities. Over the years, Sheldon
Kagan International has been providing free entertainment for the Missing
Children’s Network, Montreal Children’s Hospital, Starlight Children’s
Foundation, Share the Warmth and numerous other organizations.
"I
want to help people that aren't going to be able to experience our
services normally," Kagan says.
It
is noteworthy that Sheldon Kagan International now has offices in Canada
and Jamaica.
